Where can I get the CE marking certificate?

The producer put CE marking on its product once he/she gets compliant to the requests coming out from all respective directives.

How much does CE marking cost?

The use of CE marking is free of cost. It is only the producer's confirmation that he/she had been compliant to all relevant Directives having implemented confirmiting assessment procedure in accordance to the above Directives. The confirmity assessment procedure itself requires human, time and financial resources especially when it needs' Notified body intervention.

What products are not to be marked by CE mark?

The products that are not covered by the New Approach Directives are not to be marked by a CE mark. For example:
•food
•textile, etc.

Some of New Approach Directives, e.g. Low Voltage Directive state that sockets to be used in households must not be marked by a CE mark.

Do products can be marked by CE mark although they were not requested?

No. The products that are not requested to be CE marked must not have a CE mark. Market monitoring bodies must take care not to allow wrong CE marking in those cases.

Who does tell producer that his/her product must be CE marked?

It is the producer responsibility to be aware what and how is to be marked or what are requests for the specific product. If not aware he/she must learn it. Such an assistance can be obtained from authorised market monitoring bodies or consulting agencies.

Can a product be CE marked if not made in EU?

Yes. CE mark does not confirm where the product has been made (it is not the sign of origin). It is only the producer's statement confirmed to all relevant Directives requests and it went throught confirmity assessment procedure related to all relevant directives.

Can a product be CE marked if to be used not wihin EU?

Yes. The producer is allowed to state that his/her product has been confirmed to specific requests. The producer (official representative or importer) must take into account all requests related to a product that comes from the market (country) where it is to be used.

Does a product exposed at the fair must be CE marked?

Not, if the product is to be used for presentation or as an exhibit only. In such a case the product is to be marked cleary as not compliant to EU regulation requests and not intended to be sold on the EU market. Producer or exhibitor must assure that no safety aspects have been endangered.

Do products intended to be used in researching centres must be CE marked?

If products are used in research activities there are not meet all request as those on market. If research centre is a University where the product is modified temporarility in order to confirm an action, it is considered as exhibition equal to fair presentation. The EU member countries' opinions are different in this issues.

Is Notified body responsible for products conformity to regulation requests if being involved into confirming assessment procedure?

No, it is producer's responsibility only. Notified body is responsible for actions done during confirmity assessment procedure.
